Thank you for choosing to book with Number One Port Hill. We look forward to welcoming you. When you make your booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions below which also provides some useful information.
Prices: The price includes accommodation plus any board indicated. Unless clearly stated on the Confirmation Form all extras such as speciality breakfasts, exclusive packages, Early or Late Check In charges are additional. All taxes are included.
Payment: We accept payment via bank transfer, debit card and most major credit cards. Full payment is taken at the time of reservation which secures your booking.
For special packages, we require 50% payment upon reservation with the balance due no less than 3 months before day of arrival.
Special offers: From time to time, Number One Port Hill will offer special promotions. Each promotion has its own terms and conditions and if these are not met, then the full charge will apply.
Cancellation and Insurance: Once you have made your booking, our agreement is a legal contract. For cancellations made up to 72 hours before the day of your stay we will refund you in full. However for cancellations made after 72 hours or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount. All bookings are non-transferable.
For special packages, you will receive 75% refund if notified no less than 3 months prior to date of event. After this time, full payment will be kept.
For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.
Check In: Check In time is from 4pm – 8pm on day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you plan to arrive outside of these hours when an Early/Late Check In/Out charge of £30 will apply.
Departure: Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10.00am on day of departure. Unless otherwise arranged, a Late Check Out charge will apply. Room keys/house keys must be returned to reception upon departure. Failure to do so may result in a £50 lost key fee being charged.
Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Damages and breakages: Please remember that this is a bed & breakfast, not a hotel, and as such is our family home. All guests are expected to take reasonable care of the rooms and leave them in the same condition as found upon arrival. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages that you cause to the accommodation or its contents and any subsequent loss of business. Please report these as soon as they occur. We may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £50 if you did not report this.
Lost Property: If an item is left behind, we will make every reasonable effort to locate the owner to arrange the return. If the item is not reclaimed within 3 months of the guest’s departure, it will be disposed of. A charge is made to return items.
Behaviour: Number One Port Hill reserves the right to judge acceptable levels of noise and behaviour of all guests. If Number One Port Hill feels that the enjoyment of other guests’ is compromised by this behaviour then the offending party will be asked to take immediate corrective action. Failure to comply with our requests may mean immediate termination of the booking or event without being liable for any refund or compensation.
No Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in any of our rooms. If you smoke within the building, a charge of £100 will be applicable to cover our cleaning costs. You are welcome to smoke outside where an ashtray can be provided.
Children: We do not have the facilities to accommodate children aged 12 years and under. However, if an agreement has been made with the owner then a responsible adult must ensure that their behavior is appropriate for other guests. It is deemed the accompanying adult’s responsibility to ensure that the property and other guests are respected.
Pets: Pets are not permitted.
Parking: There is on-street parking available dependent upon your arrival time. Additional parking is available in the Pay & Display car park to the left of Number One Port Hill, entrance in Beane River View.
Accessibility Information:
- There are 2 steps from the front garden to the front door.
- The dining room is on the ground floor.
- The drawing room is on first floor accessible via a staircase with hand rails on one side.
- All guest bedrooms are on second floor accessible via a staircase with hand rails on one side.
Support for the Mobility Impaired: Please note Number One Port Hill does not have a lift. At present, we do not have any disabled accommodation.
Comments and complaints: Any comment or complaint regarding your stay should be made to the Proprietor or representative at the time of visit so that the matter can be resolved immediately.
Statutory requirements: Number One Port Hill is subject to statutory controls, including those relating to fire, health, hygiene and safety. These must be strictly observed by all guests.
Data protection: Number One Port Hill respects the privacy of every individual who visits us. The data collected about you will be used to firstly fulfill any service you might request e.g. to request information, make a booking etc and secondly to improve our service. We will under no circumstances give your personal data to third parties. However, unless you specifically ask us not to we will use your data to send you further information.
Any marketing e-mails sent to you will always provide you with the option to unsubscribe. This is in accordance with UK Data Protection Legislation.
When making a booking, your credit card or billing account details are only retained for the purpose of handling that individual transaction, unless you ask us to keep these details for future purchases which you may make through us. In order to process a booking or enquiry, this will be destroyed on your departure. We adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998.
Our right to vary our Terms & Conditions: We reserve the right to change the Terms & Conditions at any time without notice. These updated Terms & Conditions will be published on our website.
